Oz had set his paper down and stood by the desk as Celid began to explain her reasoning and plan. At first the idea of running away gave the boy hope. He would run as fast as he could, it didn't matter where he would run to but then again; any place was better than this. However, slowly the hope began to fade as the elven women went on, Oz felt pale and his eyes widen at a single thought formed in his head. This was a test...a dirty little game that he would surely lose. He would run, Celif would catch him or some other elve would and then he would get punished...maybe even killed. Oz took a few steps back as Celid stood up and walked towards him. Oz didn't trust her, not one bit, when the elve created the flower he took the blood red plant and just cradled it. There was a pause before the boy tossed the flower to the floor; shaking his head feverishly. No. He refused to eat such a vile thing. If he did, Oz knew he would lose the last bit of freedom he had. He wasn't like most humans who never knew free will. Oz wasn't going to give it up, not for anything in the world. The redhead looked at Celid with a hateful stare before suddenly running from the room. The boy ran down the hall, in his panic he didn't quite know which way to turn. Oz swung open a door only to stumble right into the floor of the ballroom.

Celid watched the boy unexpectedly run away. He was just a slave, yet he dared to disobey. How ridiculous! She smiled. The boy truly was interesting: even the powerful lords didn't dare to reject her so bluntly. It was not like he was fearless, Celid could see fear in his eyes. Yet he still chose to fight back.
It reminded her of back then when the elves started the war for freedom. They used to be under the rule of humans and they were quite pitiful compared to now. She wondered if there will ever be a day when that little rebel becomes free too.
Celid picked up the flower from the floor and stared at it for a while. She couldn't make it disappear anymore now that she created it, and it would only last for 5 hours before losing its effect.
She walked out of her room holding the flower. She needed to look for someone to feed this flower to. She could force Oz to eat it thanks to her control magic, but she was curious to see how far he could go. He was just a random human and he wasn't useful to her anyway. If he wanted to run that bad, she wouldn't mind letting him try. Not that she would let him success this easily: he was a piece of her collection afterall.
Celid wandered in the hallway, thinking about who would be suitable to become her new loyal servant. The servants of the manor were no good, all of them were brainwashed by her dazzling reputation and would never think about going against her anyway. It would be a waste. It had to be someone who was not of her faction, but weak enough to be manipulated by her. It wouldn't be a hard task since all guests brought their servants with them. She just had to choose one.
She thought about that bat-ani she met previously. She could feel that she was weaker than her and he seemed to know General Alox, so he might have some clue about what she wanted to know. She smiled and found his location through the plants of the manor. He just happened to be wandering alone again.
Celid soon reached small courtyard within the manor. The bat-ani was standing under a tree, looking at the lotus flowers in a pond. Celid made sure that there wasn't anyone around, expecially his master, and started spreading a pleasant flower scent. The scent was not unusual, and it mixed with the ones of the flowers in the courtyard. This spell was much more powerful compared to the one she used on Oz. She could directly control the target for a few minutes, without even the need to give verbal instruction.
Celid felt that the man was already under the effect of the scent and walked up to him. She handed him the flower, which was soon eaten by him.
"Why are you wandering alone in my manor again? Are you looking for something?"
The effect of the control magic wore off, but a more powerful bound was created. A peony crest shone on the bat-ani's chest and strongly tied his coscience to his new master.
-A new character has appeared-

Somewhere, near the border of the Forest...

An amber eye twitched. A foliage of browns and leafy greens stretched from either end of the ani's vision. No blues. No purples. And most unfortunately, no yellows. The half-eagle sighed. Where were the darned kilas? She trod a few paces forward. Green.

She sucked in violently. If it were not for the recent elve (elf??) patrols, she would scream, and tear bushes from their roots, and do whatever she would normally do to vent frustration: be loud. Nevertheless, her footsteps grew heavy, and she stalked nearer to the forest's border. ________.
