"A human village near the sacred mountain! Who would have thought there would be a village there! No wonder He was able to survive so long despite the war" Celid thought.
She let Sasha and the servants busy themselves, without commenting aloud. She felt the boy's hands moving her hair, he was probably doing a braid.
Celid sit quietly and looked at her own reflection in the mirror and started thinking. Sasha mentioned that General Alox was coming, but she didn't want to see him at all. She wondered if she could find an excuse to not attend the party.
Suddenly, she noticed the boy leaving her side. She raised an eyebrow and adjusted her position to see him from the mirror. He ran to a vase and plucked some flowers from it, while the other servants where too busy to notice him.
She was shocked. Why did he pluck her precious crystal flowers out of the blue?! Puzzled, she stared at him as he came back and decorated her hair with the flowers
"Pfft-" Celid forced herself to not brust into laughter.
However, Sasha still heard it and turned around to see the new servant holding some gem-like flowers in his hands. She dropped the box she was carrying.
"You!" She yelled "What have you done?! Those are Lady Celid's favourite flowers! Do you have an idea of how valuable they are?! How could you pluck them?!" She was enraged. She was about to hit the boy with her cane, but she remembered about Celid and tried to console her "My poor lady, don't be sad. You must be heartbroken for seeing your beloved flowers being damaged, but please don't get angry because of this useless brat. I will help you dealing with him and I'll make sure he doesn't dare to lay one finger on your collection ever again!"
Celid suddenly got an idea and decided to catch the chance. She pretended to be startled and turned back to look at the flowers the boy was holding, as if she didn't notice it before. She took the flowers and caressed them, acting as dramatic as she could and sighed. "These are one of my favourite pieces in my whole collection. I have so many rare items in my room, but these are one of the most beautiful". She sighed again and stood up, eyes fixed on the little flowers. "I'm sorry, Sasha, please tell my father and mother that I'm not in the mood of celebrating today. I'm a bit tired for the long trip. I will go back to rest".
Celid turned her back to her servants and slowly walked past a silk curtain, obviously expressing her will to be left alone.
Oz was startled at the sudden shout. Of course the boy didn't realize what he was doing was wrong...after all, no one really told him what was important and what wasn't in Celid's room. Oz had suddenly dropped the flowers that were still remaining, a few broke once they hit the marble floor of the room, Oz winced at the sound and quickly flinch when he saw the cane raised for a split second. The redhead was relieved for a moment when he saw the cane go down...but that feeling didn't last long. The servants all bowed and began to leave the room at Celid's silent request, but Sasha grabbed the boy by his wrist and dragged him from the room.

"Foolish little brat" she sneered as she pulled the panicked Oz into a closet. Once inside the Elder elve wacked her cane onto the boys back very harshly, she did several times before stopping. Oz had thick, hot tears rolling down his cheeks, and his back felt sore. "NEVER touch what is not yours unless told to" Sasha hissed. Oz sniffled, but gave a nod. Sasha locked the boy in the closet while she returned to Celid's room. "I  am so very sorry my dear" the elven maid cooed softly, picking up the broken crystals from the grown. "I'll be sure to let your father know all that happened" she added.

As all of the commotion had taken place, the guests had finally arrived. Many were rich and respect elves, some returning soldiers...and amongst the crowd was a very special guest. The Ani general known as Fuyu. She was a wolf-ani that lead her army of rogue anis. For her race was forbidden by their elders to fight in the war a long time ago,  however some refused to listen. But how did an Ani get an invitation to such a party? One could say Fuyu was general Alox own honoured guest.

Celid let herself fell on her bed and quietly laughed. She wasn't that sad because of the flowers: she had more of them anyway.
However she was surprised by what Oz did. She thought he wanted to steal them: in the past she saw various greedy humans taking advantage of the war to steal valuable items, so she thought he wanted to take some while nobody was looking.
Who would have guessed that he totally had no idea of what they were and how precious they were. What an ignorant human.
But still, this matter gave her a chance to avoid the party. To think that he would be able to become useful for her so unexpectedly.
Celid believed that useless people should be abandoned and useful people should be rewarded. This was also how it worked in the army. Even if Oz didn't try to help her on prupose, what he did had a positive effect on her. She wouldn't really give him any reward, since he ruined her crystal flowers, but she didn't want to leave him be beaten too hard at least.
She stood up and felt Oz's presence through the flowers in the manor and after making sure she wouldn't be seen by anyone, she went to the closet where Oz was locked.
Celid unlocked the door with magic and looked at the crying child
"Come with me"
Oz sat in the darkness, pulling his knees to his chest, whipping a few tears from his eyes just as he began to cough...harshly. The boy covered his mouth, stifling the cough. Oz had been sick for a while now, ever since he was captured he had been slowly getting sicker. But he couldn't let the elves know...they would kill him. Better to toss something away that is broken then it is to keep. Oz blinked as he heard the muffled sound of guests talking..he closed his eyes and tried to think back of festivals his village would have in the summer months...suddenly he jumped at the sound of the door unlocking, Oz slowly got to his feet, squinting at the light from the hallway. The boy didn't say anything, but stepped out of the closet as he was told to.

Just as they were walking down the hallway, someone bumped into Celid...it was a bat-ani. His wings were neatly folded behind him, his ears tilted side to side, but perhaps the strangest thing was that his eyes were covered. "OH!! I'm sorry!!" He said.

Celid scanned the man from head to toe. She doesn't remember ever seeing him before. And first of all, why would an ani be here, at her home, walking alone in the hallway?
She stood in front of Oz, covering him from the stranger's sight. She took the boy out secretly and didn't want unexpected people to cause troubles, just in case.
"You are...?"

Ha!! Love it :3 ))

Oz bumped softly into Celid at her sudden stop, he tilted his head and looked past her with raised eyebrows to see the bat-ani. The ani-male tilted his head, bat ears flicking a little as he heard the elven's lady voice."I truly am sorry, I came with General Fuyu...I was trying to find a friend of mine but hum…" the bat-ani tugged at his blindfold "I don't see very well in bright places, my name is Kik" he said with a little bow at an angle while offering his hand. Just then he quickly straightened up, ears perking just as footsteps could be heard.

"Ahhh!! Look who finally blessed us with her presence!" An elven man said in a smooth voice, it was none other then Alox. "Your handmaiden told me you were feeling under the weather, I came to see if you needed anything" he added. Alox made a move to shove the Kik away, but the ani suddenly shifted with unnatural speed, pressing himself to the wall. Alox blinked but shrugged it off, once more going back to smiling a wide grin at Celid. "Now my dear lady, you must tell me everything, the last I saw you...you were just going off to your first battle!" The elven man mused, taking one of Celid's hand and kissed it. Alox had yet to notice the redhead, but Oz noticed how...uncomfortable Celid had become. Oz didn't like the elven man either. The boy suddenly took Celid's hand, bowing for a moment before pointing in the direction they were going before stopping. Alox narrowed his eyes and suddenly pulled Oz away. "Go away little brat..the good lady and I were taking" he hissed, slapping the boy across the face before turning back to Celid.

Oz held his cheek, his green eyes darken...before he could do anything else, a hand touched his shoulder. "Perhaps you should go" Kik said softly to the boy, Oz looked up and shook his head.

Celid's mouth slightly twitched, but she soon resumed her image and graciously bowed in greeting to General Alox
"General Alox, what a surprise. Had I known you were here, I'd have come to welcome you!"
He knew she wasn't well, yet he still came to ask about the war. What a tactless war freak! Celid still wondered how her father could be friends with such a rude elf, but she couldn't impolite.
"Thanks to your achievements in the war before me, we were able to subdue the humans easily. Currenly the borders are stable and I expect that the war will end in victory within a few years, expecially now that the human royal family has been annihilated. I hope General Alox would be kind enough to lend me your wisdom and give me a few pointers for strategies the next time we meet. I'm still feeling unwell, so if you could excuse me"
Celid suddenly threw a long speech without giving him time to ask any other questions, she didn't want to deal with him at all.
She lightly bowed and walked away with moderately fast pace.
She returned to her room with Oz and led him in front of an exquisite desk with some paper and ink on it.
"Sit down" she ordered "I'll heal your wounds"
Celid wasn't proficient in healing magic like her mother, but it was still enough to ease the pain of being beaten. She sat beside him and made made a peony flower appear on her palm. The beautiful peony shone light on the boy and his wounds slowly healed.
Celid's impression of him slightly improved since their first meeting, at least she didn't think he was an eyeshore anymore. It must be known that she often disliked the powerful people because she couldn't order them around, but toward the weak, obedient ones she didn't have much opinion unless they were in the way.
However, she still couldn't trust Oz. She has been in war against humans for long time and knew how cunning they were.
The dazzling flower kept glowing with warm light, but the color slightly changed and a pleasant scent spred in the air. It was Celid's control magic: with this, the ones affected by it would be entranced and would answer her questions without lying
"Who are you? Are you a human spy?"

Celid meeting Oz #2
Alox was taken back by the sudden speech, he didn't even have time to react nor getcha word in until the very end. "Uh...ye-yes my lady, very good" he mutters softly to himself as Celid pushed past the elven man. Oz turned around for a moment and stuck his tongue out very quickly at Alox before turning back and following Celid. Kik chuckled to himself, ears flicking slightly before he was suddenly slapped on the back of his head. The bat-ani went stiff, "dong you have someplace to be!?" Alox sneers.

Oz looked around the study as the two stepped in to the room. The boy glanced at the tall bookshelves, remembering when before Celid returned he managed to sneak away from Sasha and come here, opening the books and reading them...or more likely, looking at the pictures during yo the fact most of the books were in elvish. But some were in the human tongue. Oz looked over at the chair that Celid pointed to, he crawled onto it and sat down. Feet barely touching the ground, when the elven-women mention healing him, Oz gave a skeptical look, leaning away from Celid in the process. The boy soon seem to relaxed a little, watching the flower bloom right out of Celid's hand...it was so pretty. Oz tilted his head to the side, soon feeling a warm tingling feeling running down his back, the pain slowly vanishing. Oz was slightly confused now, why was this she elve healing him? Why was she being...kind?

Soon, however, the warm feeling began to travel up to his head. Oz blinked, trying to shake the feeling away. But it only made it spread faster, it was like someone was filling his mind with soft cotton or a thick fog. His body started to relax on its own, the boy leaned back in to the chair, and like a moth to a flame, his now glazed over eyes refused to look away from the glowing peony. The scent was so warm and comforting...Oz almost forgot where he was what he was doing. Suddenly Celid's voice cut through the fog within his mind, and without even thinking the boy shook his head no. He wasn't a spy.

He wasn't. Celid has suspected that he could be a spy sent by the humans. She had heard that those despicable humans would sometime use weak people to make the enemy let their guard down and gather information about them. She already knew that Oz was from a village near the holy mountain and survived till now by pure luck, but she still couldn't let her guard down.
It looks like this Oz was just a normal human child.
Celid withrew her flower and the scent slowly dissipated. She stood up and walked to the window, thinking again about General Alox. That old geezer wasn't someone who gives up easily and judging by how he actively came to look for her despite her pretending to be unwell, she suspected that he wanted something more than knowing about the war. Of course, she didn't want to have anything to do with him.
There was also that bat-ani. They seemed to know each other.
Celid felt that there was something going on, but she hated being dragged around by others. She preferred to find out about the situation herself and decide what to do by her own accord.
She thought about running away from home. She didn't dislike her manor, of course. This was the place she had her most loyal pawns, a place where she could be the ruler. But she believed that being able to act out of others' schemes was more important.
She tapped her finger on the window frame, thinking for a way. Then she shifted her sight to the boy sitting at the desk, still a bit dazed because of the spell.
"Oz, how fast can you run?"
Oz blinked the moment the flower was pulled away, the fog in his mind slowly fading. The young boy rubbed his eyes: had he fallen asleep? It felt like he had, but at the same time a part of him knew that he was still awake, his memory was just very...fuzzy. In fact his whole head felt fuzzy and heavy, the redhead wasn't a huge fan of this feeling to say the least. For a few moments Oz looked around, trying to recall why he was in the study. His eyes glanced over at Celid by the window. He watched as she turned and asked him the question. Oz tilted his head...thinking first a moment, trying to get his mind going again. The last time he had run was when...when his mother told him to. He ran through the forest, holding her hand tightly until- Oz stopped himself, squeezing his eyes shut and wincing inward. After a small pause he opened his eyes, this time the green hue had become very dark. The boy picked up a quill and began to scratched away on a piece of paper before lifting it up to shoe Celid. In handwriting that seemed very neat for a child of Oz's age, it read;

Why do you want to know?

The boy didn't understand why the elven-women would ask him such a question. Was this a test of some sort? A way for him to get beaten again? He had already gotten in trouble because of Celid once already, and even though she healed him the redhead still...despised her. After all, she was a warrior; a murder. Just like the rest of her kind and at any moment he would be tossed aside like a broken toy. Dark thoughts for a child to have but for all of Oz's childhood, it is a very dark world. His mother tried to teach him that your enemies are like you, and maybe Oz believed her...for a little while, but not anymore.

Celid looked at what Oz wrote. It was the human tongue, but she could understand it.
"We're getting away from here"
She sat down and crossed her legs, looking lofty, as if she was to make a long speech.
"You run, I pretend to chase you and we get out of here together. I'll show you with route to take to make sure we're not caught by others".
It was a simple plan. It was just to run away from her own home, under the watch of servants who are mostly already under her mind control, it was not difficult at all. She just needed to make a little show. The main point was to avoid her father and the powerful guests, but it was easy for her to know their location in her manor if she used magic.
"But of course, I'm not letting you free. I'm having you accompany me as a servant while I'm out"
She thought for a moment and opened her palm in front of her. A bright red flower slowly appeared and bloomed. It was the color of blood, emitting a strong aura.
"I want you to make an oath and pledge loyalty to me. Eat this flower and make the oath in your heart. But don't worry, as long as you don't think of betraying me, nothing bad will happen to you"
This was one of her most advanced control magic. It consumed a lot of magic power and had a few downsides for her too, but it was able to mark a person for life and it was quite hard to break. Celid loved to control others since she was young, so she trained hard to learn this spell. Despite it being harmful for her to use it too often, she wasn't too stingy in using it.
She handed the flower to Oz, waiting for his answer. Of course, he as a servant, didn't have any choice.
