(So, there are different versions of it, two actually. One is, Chara uses the reset but on Maki and resets his curse, fixing his sanity, but the downside is, it also makes it so he loses all the abilities he’s copied. The other is, since the first is a little unlikely, since you can’t really choose what the reset button resets, is that she eventually masters the Overwrite button, uses it to temporarily modify the reset button and link it to maki’s curse, the reset the curse. It has the same drawback of making his forget the abilities he’s learned)

(Oh, they still can, it doesn’t get rid of the curse, it just make it’s start over, so the class has more time to train and get stronger.)

(Actually, I'll just put it under spoiler so whoever doesn't want to be spoiled doesn't have to read it.)

Maki's being hunted. Large government officials believe it's better to just either kill him off or experiment on him for it to be stable. The only reason he's alive is that the Principal wants Maki to help train the others to defeat him before that happens. So he's under contract.

Resetting his abilities would make him susceptible to graduating and risk his final test because, well, he loses everything.

the whole “susceptible to graduating thing. I get the government thing, but wouldn’t this help them? But the graduating thing just confuses me. Wouldn’t he be less likely to graduate?
