so Deadman Wonderland is a "correction facility" for people who are on death row in Japan. people sent there are put into deadly games where most people die, and those who dont and win the game win 3,000-8,000 Cast Points, the currency for the place. people on the outside think that the deadly games are just animations, and that the inmates just work behind the scenes or act
a character to know about: the Wretched Egg, patient 0 of a virus called the Branch of Sin. the Branch of Sin allows people to control their blood and use it as a weapon, and the people in G Sector have it. the Wretched Egg is the only person who can transmit the virus
people with the virus are called Deadmen, and are put together to battle each other. theyre given a bird name, and when they battle, they have to either stop the other from being able to attack (like knocking them out) or killing them, and the prize for winning is 1 million Cast Points, while the punishment for losing is losing a limb/organ. Deadmen are kept secret from society, and only the workers in Sector G and rich/famous people get to watch the shows.
