Replied to a comment on Circles: "Mostly because we wanted to reenforce the idea of circles (since they swim in circles on the title screen), needed an element of 2 because of the two main characters but also the Credit/Play button, and the various meanings attached to Koi matched the story very well - that of trial, loyality, love, good fortune, ... and yes they're also pretty."
