This game is still in progress. Currently only one route is available, and it is incomplete, but more content will be published regularly, so be sure to save and check back for more!

This is not so much a visual novel as it is a chance to advise and live vicariously through the characters you exchange messages with. The more effort you make in getting to know your penpal, the deeper the story goes.

If you fail to be a good penpal, you may end up at route reselect instead of continuing on with the story. There isn't really a “bad end” so much as a “try harder/pay attention next time end."

Made as an entry for Easter Jam, the primary theme is comedy.

The story is now complete, but the lessons gallery is kind of buggy. I have an idea of how I can work around some of the issues, but I'm probably not going to have a chance to try it until after the jam ends, so just... be careful, and remember that you can always reset the game from the settings screen if you get stuck.

OH MY GOSH I FINISHED IT! Yes!! I never finish anything! I had to drop the idea of this being exactly horror, because I am a scaredy-cat and kept freaking myself out, but hopefully it's still pleasantly creepy :). Except just ignore the part where the Witch Trials took place about 200 years before the events in Jane Eyre and apparently charity schools didn't really come into fashion until like the 1700s at the earliest? I dunno guys I just wrote what I felt like writing haha.

This was supposed to be for the jam back in October 2018 but, um. I got carried away. I want the story to branch eventually but for now I'm just going to update chapter-by-chapter until it can be played all the way through as a kinetic novel.

I was hoping to get this more polished before putting it out into the world, but I'm not going to have computer access for a couple months and I'd rather release it in all its wonky, glitch glory than not know when (or if) I'll come back to it again. So please enjoy, and if you find a glitch I will be grateful if you let me know, but will also be unable to fix it in the forseeable future.
