In the far away land of Sugaria, where peppermint princes, knights in shining chocolate and other sugary delights delve, three girls one day encounter mysterious magical objects in the enchanted forests of Strawberry, Vanilla, and Chocolate woods. Decide their fate and destiny as they venture throughout the vast lands of Sugaria.

I'm gonna work on Skights and finish this game first before I work on Code: Coppélia. It's more family friendly, and Code: Coppélia is a big project that I want to get right. I'm already half way done with Skights so I'm going to finish that first.

This is the original "map" of Sugaria:

It's basically a Neopolitan ice cream sundae, but I realize I need to make room for all the other locations I added in the game, like salt water taffy port, etc. It's been a while since I last looked at this. 😅

Looking at other "epic medieval or fairytale" like games or tv series, like Odin Sphere and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, this map pales by comparison. I do plan to revamp this later on to make it more "accurate" to the actual story itself. Just like the remake of Cafe Rouge, we're gonna remove a lot of stuff to fix all the plot holes, so the game makes more "sense" to players.

So what I really want to add in the Skights RPG is the ability to fight monsters, and in the land of Sugaria, every animal or "monster" is a dessert/candy themed manifestation:


This is just a sketch of an "ice cream squirrel" or icescruirrel (the name sounds like a monthful, sorry) but overall I want to design all these monsters or animals in their dessert forms. I'm getting a lot of inspiration from pokemon and zelda for this game. Of course, you'll be able to keep track of inventory too, so there will be lots of cool items that I'll be designing, all dessert or candy themed.

Hello to everyone following the Skights updates thread. If you guys saw the email that was sent out a few hours ago, I got feedback from the open ended questions of the survey about how the current patrons on Patreon want to see more behind-the-scenes work, exclusively and only on Patreon.

So at the time of writing this post, I'm going to only post Skights game development updates on Patreon moving forward, until the big demo release (which won't happen for probably 1-2 years). I think it's really unfair that I post free content here when there are people paying for updated content that is supposed to be exclusive to their eyes only, and I just show you guys everything in this thread, for free. 

If you still want to see developments and updates of Skights, please sign up to be a patron on the CloudNovel Patreon account. I will not be posting anymore free updates in this thread for a while (1-2 years), until a stable demo is released and a crowdfunding campaign is launched.

Hey guys, the mystery character of the 4th Skight girl, Melissa the Mint Skight, has been revealed: 



This fourth Skight protagonist comes from a northern continent called "Bing Tang" or 冰糖 the Chinese word for "Rock Candy" or crystallized sugar.

She is only available if we hit our 2nd stretch goal of $69,000 in funding. As a new protagonist, her story will add an additional 25% game content into the RPG game, thus why she is only available after we reach the stretch goal.

Our 4th Skight was first posted on our Patreon on July 10th, so around a week later I'll post content from our Patreon account, here in this publicly viewable CloudNovel thread (your support on Patreon would help a lot, so please consider becoming our patron)!

I wanted to show you guys the notes for Skights the RPG remake:



As you can see, the planned remake is supposed to have 5 chapters for each of the 3 Skight "books" or characters.

There will be a Vanilla, Chocolate, and Strawberry book for the 3 Skights. This was written before I came up with the Mint Skight, so there are no mentions of the Mint Skight or book here.

Overall, I hope you're as excited as I am about Skights the Kickstarter, launching this Thursday! ^^

Overall, since the crowdfunding campaign was cancelled, I'm going to remake an prototype version of Skights with a rewritten script as my first goal. It's been over a decade since I've worked on it, so I'm going to make a lot of changes to the story and candyland lore.

After a solid prototype is finished, then I'll start working on the final game with CloudRPG.
