I have an important announcement concerning the future of the CloudNovel website and platform.

For a long time I have loved developing games especially visual novels and dating sims. I have always had a passion for the art of storytelling and the visual arts. It is why I created CloudNovel, to be able to create moving works of interactive art and storytelling. Game development is indeed an art form of the computer sciences, and it is a medium to express ourselves to the world.

However as the staff of CloudNovel continued to develop our visual novel engine, we realized we wanted to make more and more complex games that would be beyond the realm of a storytelling game like a visual novel or dating sim.

So, it is with great pleasure and excitement, that we are announcing our newest game engine, CloudRPG.


What is CloudRPG? CloudRPG will be a bigger game engine even bigger than CloudNovel. It will have all of CloudNovel's capabilities and more. You will be able to make rpg games like Mario, Pokemon, Zelda, and even more. Best of all, like CloudNovel, it will have no coding. 

Our goal is to release an alpha sometime in 2022, but right now we are in a research and development phase to develop our software. Some basic ideas of what types of game you will be able to create with CloudRPG, see the following:


So you might be wondering "okay I'm reading so much text but what is the point of this announcement?" I will get to the point:

We are looking for game developers to be our first users to help us develop this game engine. We are recruiting volunteers to be our first game developers and beta testers for CloudRPG, and based on everyone's feedback, we will build and develop our game engine.

i was wondered if the program work with pixel art, i am not familiar with this kind of art so i wanted to know if it possible

זה יעבוד עם כל סוג של אמנות, פיקסל או כל מה שתרצה. זה רק צריך להיות בקובצי תמונה .png, .svg, .jpg או .gif.

It will work with any kind of art, pixel or whatever you like. It just needs to be in .png, .svg, .jpg, or .gif image files.

its be possible to use the program in the visual novel part of the site? like, making a standard visual novel and use this program to make some kind of unik minigames?

@trikoko159 Our plan is the put all of the first two engines (CloudNovel and CloudAvatar) into CloudRPG. So CloudRPG will have a visual novel engine AND dress up game engine, therefore you don't have to use CloudNovel to link to CloudRPG, the CloudRPG engine will have everything, so you just build your game inside CloudRPG.

Are there any updates about CloudRPG?
I've recently gotten inspired and want to create a rather complex game that would probably be best experienced as an RPG. I've also been playing around with the idea of making it a point-and-click game, but if CloudRPG is released in the middle of my work on the point-and-click version I may get discouraged as I'll want to start all over, making the game an RPG style. You had originally said that sometime in 2022 an alpha may be released.
So I was just wondering, is there was any chance that CloudRPG would be released to the public anytime within the next few months?

@PrinAylan Hey there, thanks for your interest. Yes, originally we planned to release an alpha of CloudRPG this year, but because of a lot of things that have been happening with my family drama, things have been delayed and now we are looking for a tentative release for next year, 2023. However, this alpha version that we plan to release in 2023 will probably contain lots of bugs, and we wouldn't advise working on a major game on CloudRPG until our software is at least stable enough to make your RPG game without issues, so probably 2024 is when the software is available for public release instead of an alpha release.
