"Akane" is a kinetic text visual novel based on a series of episodic stories centred around a girl called, Akane. I have this idea since 2017 after watching an anime called, "Mononoke". I was intrigued and I love the storytelling. 
At first I thought I was just going to create a novella out of this idea. However, after some thought and feedback, I realised that turning this into a Visual Novel might be a better solution. At this point, the VN is still in it's early stage so things might change.

So, without further ado, here's the VN info:


Summary:

Through the magic of theatre, you got the first hand experience to eerie world where youkai and ghosts call home. Akane must find a way out before she entered to the point of no return, while in hopes she could find a person whom she believe existed in her life.

It's mostly kinetic, the story of Akane is told within a play. So the player is the audience observing an interactive theatre play.

Idk how to explain it, this is the best I can do. 😖😖

Thanks!! I have to redesign the entire look because the original Main Menu looked tacky. This is the title page of the VN. :)
Sounds very interesting! I like the idea of theatre and yokai together.

The premise is super interesting, and I quite like settings in the context of theater. Looking forward to seeing more progress!

WIP:
Currently working on the Prologue chapter. There are still some assets and CGs that needs to be done. 

Here are some progress shots:

















So far the struggles are trying to get the style consistency and a bit of writing. I manage to get the script for the prologue to be done, but it needs a little tweaking. I still have in-game assets, CGs, and character sprite to finish. So far it's going alright.

WIP/ PROGRESS UPDATE:


First off, thank you so much for taking your time to do the character poll. I have reached to my conclusion!! Thank you all so much.

Right now, I have finished with the background and the programming for the prologue (yes, I know. I am slow.) I have just finished the character sprite and the in-game elements for the menu page; that's the thing that is most hectic for me. 

So now, all that is left are:
  • CG (s)
  • Test Flags
  • Beta testing for the chapter

So far so good. I am still thinking about the CGs. I am not sure should I two CGs per chapter or just stick with one.
