Uploading characters into the project’s library.



  1. Open your project’s library and click Add a Character.

    


  2. Name the character and click Add Character.

    


  3. Open the new character we have just created.

    


  4. Click Continue.

    


  5. Click Add a Sprite

    


  6. Name the sprite and enter the image URL. More information about the image URL can be obtained in this post.

    If you are using the Premium version, you can bulk upload a lot of character’s sprites directly from your device. Click Choose File and select the images you want to upload from the device. Select multiple images to use bulk upload.

    


    


  7. (Optional) By default, the first sprite is chosen to be a default sprite. To change this, all you have to do is click one of the sprites and click Set As Default button.

    



Adding the character to a Scene



  1. Open a scene.

    


  2. Make sure you have added pages into the scene.

    


  3. Click the Add Assets button and choose Character.

    


  4. Drag and drop the character into the scene. The character will not appear if you just drag and drop it.

  5. Select a page and enter the timeline editor.

    


  6. Under Scene Assets, select a character. 

    


  7. This will open an Animation and Commands panel on the right side.

    


  8. Find Show Character animation and click Add to Selected Asset.

    


  9. By default, the character will show up at the center of the stage. You may change the character's position by entering a value number, sliding the slider or choose one of the presets.

    


  10. If you want to change the position of the Y-axis of the character, you can change it by entering a value in this input box located at the left panel.

    


  11. If you want to change the size of the character within the engine, you can do so by inputting a value in this box. Enter a value less than 1 (< 1 for example, 0.9, 0.5,...) to make the character smaller or more than 1 (>1 for example, 1.5, 2,...) to make the character bigger.

    


    However, we recommend you to resize your asset outside of the engine because uploading big assets to the engine might cause slow loading time.

  12. Do not forget to Save Changes.


Change Characters Sprite (Expressions)



Normal to Angry


  1. Select a character.

    


  2. Find Change Sprite and click Add to Selected Asset.

    


  3. Choose a sprite among those you have uploaded from the library.

    


  4. That's all.
  5. Do not forget to save any changes.


Hiding the character in a scene


  1. Select a character.

    


  2. Add Hide Character animation to the character.

    


  3. (OPTIONAL) Feel free to choose Slide Left or Slide Right for smoother animation.
